We care about open source ecosystem and open source CRM software so we have to comment on this. Whatever happened to the Spikesource Spike Net for SugarCRM ? It seems just after 6months of announcing this they went their different way and now world has changed (including the websites).

Spike is splashing this aggressive pitch for Centric CRM on their home page:

And there is no mention of Spikesource stack on SugarCRM website.

Lessons from this?

SugarCRM doesn’t need stack which none of it’s customers were interested in and Spikesource wanted component which customers are not using on their own. Obviously market is shaping all these moves and that in itself is not a bad thing.
