Steps For Managing Email Campaign Using Campaign Module
To set up the Email Campaigns in SugarCRM follow the steps mentioned below:
- Create Campaign: While creating the campaign, the main thing which should be kept in mind is to set the campaign Type to Email. As campaign module relies on scheduler to send emails and process bounced emails. Fill in all the mandatory fields along with the optional information that you feel to be important from the campaign point of view.
- Create Target: This is the list of targets who will be receiving the campaign email. Here we have to create targets individually. Actually these targets can be added in the target list. After saving the target list we can add these targets in the target list through the sub panel of detail view page of target list.
- Create Target List: Target List is the list of people who will be receiving the campaign email. There are different types of list that you can create.
Default: If you set it to default then everybody will receive the campaign email.
Seed: This is the list of people who will receive the copy of campaign email and also will be notified when the campaign email is sent.
Test: This is the list of people who will receive the test email when you click on the send test.
Suppress - By Id: This is list of people who will not receive the campaign email.
Suppress - By Email Address: Same function as previous type. In this case exemption is based on email address comparison.
Suppress - By Domain: This setting exempts email address with a particular domain name and the people in this list will not receive the campaign email.
- Scheduler Setting: Through Admin>Inbound Email>Monitor New Mailbox; create one mailbox which will be used for the campaign email. Here you set the Possible actions to Bounce Handling. Now this mailbox will be shown in the drop down list of Use Mailbox while creating the Email Marketing templates.
- Create Email Marketing(Templates): After saving the campaign now you can create email marketing template through the sub panel of campaign. While creating the email marketing template you have to set the following settings:
Name of the template
Status: Set it to active.
Use Mailbox: Select the mailbox that you have created through the Admin>Inbound Email Setting>Monitor New Mailbox.
From Name: By default it takes the same name of the Mailbox but you can change it by over writing.
Set the start date and time of the campaign email.
You can select any of the email templates from the drop down list and also create new template by simply clicking on the create link.
Then you can select the Target list to which this email template is to be send.
