SugarCRM: Leads module

As SugarCRM is used to manage the details of client and based on those information the organization monitors the status of the client/prospect in the pipeline. Lead module helps in manging and monitoring the status of prospects. After feeding all the important informations in Accounts and Contacts modules, the next important module which comes in is Leads. Leads are basically prospects who are not your customers or the consumers of the products or services that you are providing. They may be your clients or customers in future with whom your organization can go for the business based on the information that you have collected so far.

While creating leads you can fill in as many information that might be useful in future to deal with that particular prospect. It has been categorized in three main frames:
Lead information, where you can specify the type of Lead source e.g. Cold call, Word of mouth, etc. along with the Lead Source description. You can also set the status of the lead e.g. New, Assigned, etc. that too with the description. While filling in this form, the mandatory field that is required is the Last name of the lead. There are more specifications that you can feed in like the contact numbers, email, department etc.
The next frame is the Address information of the lead where you can fill in the details of the mailing and shipping address of the prospect.
The last frame is the Description where you can give a short description of the what ever you feel may be important in converting this lead into opportunity.
